Boasting a 50-foot buffet, you’ll find every kind of food here. Italian, Asian, carved meat, vegetarian, pizza, soup and salad. There’s even an all-you-can-eat seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights.
Trust me this seafood buffet is worth seeing. I remember going with a group of friends, and it was the first time I had ever had crab legs. I piled my plate, and could not believe the value I was getting. Normally, a seafood meal at any restaurant is $25, but you get a second, and third, plates full for less than that every weekend!
Not just Siouxland famous
Considered “The One Delicious All-You-Can-Eat Buffet In South Dakota That’s Actually Worth Visiting” by onlyinyourstate.com, JoDean’s has been voted the best in all of South Dakota.
But don’t just stop at the buffet, you can also order off their menu. Choose from nachos, quesadillas, jalapeno poppers, and corn dogs. Or what about an ice cream shake?

However, going on Friday, my husband and I did not stay for the seafood buffet. Rather, we went early to beat the crowds, but we were not lacking. We still filled up and enjoyed walking around taking in all the oddities hung from the ceiling and walls.
More than just a restaurant
After eating we walked around admiring the turn-of-the-century theme. Yankton pride was everywhere, from artifacts from local gas stations, vintage signs, and antique cars. And walking all the way to the back there’s an 1880’s themed bar. I honestly didn’t know you could get an alcoholic drink until I saw their array of liquor. This is the best buffet in South Dakota!
JoDean’s also has a banquet hall, with the capacity to seat 175 guests. Meaning, with over 40 years serving Yankton and Siouxland, JoDean’s hasn’t just been the place to go for a unique buffet experience, but also an entertaining setting to host your next party.

A must see while in Yankton
We truly enjoyed our meal, and will be returning when we come up for Riverboat Days in August. It’s like a treasure hunt finding your favorite foods, then comparing your riches with the rest of your colleagues at the dinner table.
Also, try out their brunch buffet, from open to 3:00 PM, this is a great way to sample some of your favorite foods for half the price.
