If you are wanting a venue with a view that also doubles as a place to stay after your big day, then look no further than the Marriott Riverfront in South Sioux City, Nebraska. After your busy day of planning, and your wedding party has exhausted all their energy, what better way to end the night than to be able to simply saunter upstairs to relax in your suite and decompress in the hot tub?

A big name in a small city

Meeting with me this Thursday morning, Megan, the Sales and Marketing Manager, gave me a grand tour of the Marriott on the Riverfront. She also requested that I use approved photography for this post, therefore no photos in this post are mine. With a truly picturesque overlook of the Missouri River, your guests will enjoy views of the Veterans Bridge and downtown Sioux City.

In fact, I remember admiring this beautiful hotel while visiting the Sioux City pavilion, and looking across the river at its outdoor patio. Previously, I have only been to the Marriott Center while attending the annual Swanky Chic Boutique, which is located just across the parking lot from the hotel.

Connected by a covered walkway, this event space is large enough to host your party of approximately 1,200! But most people do not have weddings that size which is why the South Sioux City Marriott Riverfront reserves specific spaces for certain occasions.

Bonvoy means to wish someone a fantastic journey

The two rooms Megan showed me giving me a perspective of what accommodations the Marriott has were the Grand Ballroom which sits 600, and the Terrace Ballroom which allows for a smaller gathering of 120 guests. Or, if you would like to have your ceremony outside, you are welcome to the Monterey patio with the capacity for about 100 guests.

Kahill’s Chophouse

Once the ceremony is over, move inside for the reception where you’ll be pleasantly delighted to know that the locally owned Kahill’s Chophouse caters your event. One of only three prime steakhouses in the Siouxland area, you will be treated to some of the best food you’ve ever had.

Plan your event, and day after!

Take your time winding down your evening, because once the night is over you are welcome to continue the celebrations in your hotel suite. Room rentals vary, so check what options you have, and even look into an events package. In addition, you can also make your day even more memorable by booking a room block for your wedding guests so that anyone coming from out of town can stay on the same floor as you, and enjoy the hotel amenities.

In fact, my husband and I are planning a stay-cation next month, and we may need to consider this Marriott Bonvoy location as an option. With such a big name in hotels located right across the river, this may be your chance to experience some small-town luxury. And as the Marriott Bonvoy guiding principal says “We’re everywhere you want to go”, meaning this will be one place on your list to visit in and around Siouxland.

Happy Planning.
