After that sculpture walk, let’s sit down for bite to eat, and what better place to start than at Cherapa Place. If you remember, we talked about Cherapa Place in the previous post about the Arc of Dreams, and inside Cherapa’s foyer are blueprints of initial proposals for construction of the Arc.
Ode to feng shui
Once you walk past these mounted concepts, you’ll arrive at Ode to Food and Drinks. Out of all the restaurants in Sioux Falls, this was our first place we ate at while on our initial visit to the Queen City. Walking in, I immediately noticed the beautiful blue hue contrasting the natural stone, framed by the natural hardwood floors.
Walking around I noticed the coat hooks were mounted miniature bronze animal heads. How cute! And the half-moon bar with open shelves displaying a wide variety of liquor bottles, along with some dark wood paneling used as a backdrop.
I especially loved the floor to ceiling chalkboard surrounding the kitchen expo window. The creativity on display highlights daily wine specials, happy hour, lunch features, and the soup of the day. And speaking of the soup of the day, I ordered the Beer Cheese soup, with a half turkey club, and my friend, Katie, had the other half of my sandwich with a salad made of fresh greens. This was the perfect snack to the beginning of our culinary experience here in Sioux Falls.
