Our second brewery that we visited during our Spring and Summer fest is Jefferson Beer Supply. Closer than Johnnie Byrd in Wayne, Nebraska, this brewery is becoming one of my favorites in all of Siouxland. And that’s saying a lot, since my husband and I have been to all three states in our region, and drank a lot of beer in the past four years. Opening their business in May of 2022, this local business is becoming a local legend.
Opening their brewery in their hometown, husband and wife, Anthony and Nicki decided to make their way back to Jefferson, South Dakota after traveling and working in multiple different states over the past several years. In fact, Nicki has been brewing beer professionally for 6 years now, and was able to bring their talent back to Siouxland and open a very successful local business.
Partnering with local businesses
Being open for business for a little over a year, Anthony and Nicki, and their team, have been amazing at supporting a handful of other small business owners. From featuring area food trucks, to partnering with Siouxland businesses, and even hosting events, this has become the place to be for hundreds of residents.
In fact, we made our first 20-minute pilgrimage to Jefferson during their Jefferson Days of ’59. Not able to attend the full event, we did want to showcase a locally owned Jefferson business, so we chose Jefferson Beer Supply. While we were there, I was able to meet both Anthony and Nicki, and I commented on their excellent social media game, and how their consistent posting has helped renew and reinvigorate downtown Jefferson, South Dakota.
After chit-chatting for a bit, I decided on a flight of mostly stouts and sours, of course, and my husband enjoyed a pint of Grasshopper Cross American IPA. Anthony even commented on my husband’s hat from One Barrell Brewing Company out of Door County, Wisconsin. They have been there, and then we mentioned how the open-air garage doors reminded us of that brewery design, and how we absolutely love the idea of drinking beer with a nice breeze flowing in.
