I know we just came from enjoying pastries at CH Pâtisserie, but we definitely need to stop at the Home Porch Gifts for some more sweets and shopping. Not knowing what to expect when we walked into this home décor shop, I was pleasantly surprised to find a little bit of everything.
Being a home goods store you will find kitchen towels, colorful welcome mats, and wall art. As well as South Dakota made trinkets, souvenirs, and apparel. In addition, they have a plethora of my personal favorite, candles and lotions.
With all this inventory on hand, it’s no wonder they have decided to specialize in making gift baskets of all sorts. And since Mother’s Day and Father’s Day are coming up, along with it being graduation season, this would make for the perfect holiday or event gift. Plus, they are able to ship anywhere all over the United Sates, so if you find something you like, but need some time to sleep on it, call them back, and place your order! Dare I say…the best truffles in the Midwest?
But the one thing I will forever come back here for are their truffles! I know! Right! I never NEVER would have guessed this quaint little home goods store would have the most amazing truffles I’ve ever had in my life. And trust me I’m a chocolate-loving girl, and I’ve tried delicacies from all over, and I was pleasantly surprised.
While walking around the store taking note of all the little keepsakes they had on each shelf, we walked over to the front desk, and noticed their chocolate truffle display. Hmmm….I thought, this place doesn’t seem like they specialize in candy, but with a price of $2.00 each I couldn’t go wrong if I just tried a half dozen. So, when I got home, and began to dig in to these luxurious sweets, I quickly realized they may, in fact, be better than Palmer Candy’s truffles.
Therefore, doing my research like a good blogger I am, I went down to Palmer Candy a few days later and tried their truffles again, just to compare. Unbelievable! Home Porch has won the title hands down, and without hardly any struggle. The rich and smooth texture, sweet but not overly sugared truffles are now my go to if I want to send a box of candies to anyone on my gift list. Sorry Palmer Candy, but you’ve been put on notice!
