Did you know February is National Wedding Month? And en lieu of entering the love month we will be looking at 10 places to get married here in Sioux City.
My experience
I got married at the Railroad Museum in Riverside, and so many guests who live here locally had either never heard of this historic gem, or had only been there a handful of times.
Planning my wedding and working closely with the curator and volunteers, I learned that these men and women who help organize and manage this museum truly have a love for preserving history.
Keeping your money local
Soon after my wedding, many guests made return visits, and commented that the staff were professional and thorough. Reminiscing on their fond memories, they will always attribute the Railroad Museum with my wedding. And my hope is that when future brides starting planning their “big day” they’ll reflect on unique locations like the Railroad Museum, and support our community.

An added bonus is that all the money spent on this venue stayed at this venue. Museums like this need donations and funding, and I was honored to help any way I could. Keeping my money local was very important to me, and especially showing my support for community projects.

On my blog I’ve featured, not only the Railroad Museum, but also the Downtown Sioux City Library, the Woodbury County Courthouse, the Peirce Mansion, Koffie Knechtion, the Pavilion and even the Air and Transportation Museum. All of which will gladly host your wedding!

What to expect
But we will be looking at 10 new places around Sioux City, and I will try my best to present you the pricing of these 10 venues. This way you’ll know what’s available within your budget, and maybe even surprise yourself at how affordable many of these locations are.
Such places as the Downtown Art Center, the Orpheum, Grandview Park and Country Celebrations are among the places we’ll be exploring.
Happy planning!
So come with us, enjoy a little history lesson here and there, and get motivated to plan and host your next event at some of these unique locations here in Sioux City!
Good options for future brides. Maybe more will choose the railroad museum. It has activities for out of town guests to remember why they came to Sioux City, Iowa. Good information, Kelly!
