As we get older, it becomes apparent that we need to stat taking care of our bodies. You will find health gurus recommending active workouts in the gym four to five times a week, consuming a healthy diet, and drinking plenty of water. That is all imperative, but did you know there is another option to improving your over all health? OsteoStrong. By spending a simple two minutes on one machine, you have essentially maximized your body’s weightlifting strength, and activated your muscular and skeletal systems.
OsteoStrong is a wellness and fitness system that focuses on improving bone density, strength, and overall skeletal health. It was developed by John Jaquish, a biomedical engineer, and is based on the principles of osteogenic loading, which involves applying specific mechanical forces to bones to stimulate bone growth and increase bone density.
The core of the OsteoStrong program is a series of specialized machines and devices designed to help individuals safely and efficiently exert pressure on their bones. These machines allow users to perform isometric exercises that target various parts of the body, including the spine, hips, knees, and arms. By putting controlled stress on the bones, OsteoStrong aims to stimulate the body’s natural bone-building processes.
OsteoStrong is primarily promoted as a way to prevent or manage osteoporosis, a condition characterized by decreased bone density and increased fracture risk. It may also be used by athletes and fitness enthusiasts looking to enhance their bone health and performance.
It’s important to note that while some people find OsteoStrong to be beneficial, the scientific evidence supporting its claims may be limited, and individual results can vary. As with any health or fitness program, it’s a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional before starting OsteoStrong or any other exercise regimen, especially if you have underlying health conditions or concerns about your bone health.
The Sioux City Location
As stated before, John Jaquish founded OsteoStrong in 2011. He developed the OsteoStrong system based on his background in biomedical engineering and his research into bone health and bone density improvement techniques. Since then, OsteoStrong centers have been established in various locations to offer their unique approach to bone health and strength training.
This leads us to our Sioux City location. Opening the Sioux City location over five years ago, Keith and Neleigh Ranschau, born and bred in Iowa, are the enthusiastic pioneers of the OsteoStrong franchise in Northwest Iowa. Their personal quest for health and wellness has spanned more than a decade, and they’re driven by a genuine passion to make everyday wellness accessible to all. They firmly believe that OsteoStrong is the key to building a solid foundation of bone strength, a gift that spans generations from sprightly young athletes to wise mature adults. Their hearts are brimming with excitement as they introduce the OsteoStrong system to Sioux City, and they’re overjoyed to hear countless stories of how improved bone health is unlocking the full potential of life for everyone they meet!
This is where my personal experience comes in. I heard of OsteoStrong from my tax preparer who knows Michael Deignan, a session coach, and one of the most friendly faces you’ll see when walking through the doors of OsteoStrong. Hailing from the heart of Sioux City, Michael’s OsteoStrong journey is a testament to the power of this amazing program. Back in 2019, he decided to become a member because he noticed his balance was a bit shaky. The transformation was incredible! Just one month of sessions, and his balance was back on track. He was so thrilled with his results that he jumped at the opportunity to become a Session Coach. With a decade of experience in the fitness and wellness industry, Michael knows the importance of stability in building strength, and he believes OsteoStrong is the key. When you walk into the center, Michael’s friendly smile radiates energy and ensures that every visit feels like a warm welcome.
Fast track to better health
Attending their open house last month, I was quite curious (as I always am with new experiences) with what each machine does, and how they benefit our physical health. Michael guided me through a detailed and extensive tour, showing me how to use every machine, and how they all impact our bodies in a positive manner. From improved balance, to intense bone growth, and even enhanced mental focus, this is like a miniature gym. Then, Steven Stanage, another session coach, led me into the back rooms where I got a chance to experience infrared lights on my retinas, and lay on a water-jet bed!
Originally from Yankton, SD, Steven’s journey has taken him through Morningside College, where he proudly earned his bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Biology from SDSU. Having been a college athlete, he embodies the spirit of an active lifestyle and radiates a genuine passion for wellness and healthcare. Steven thrives on helping individuals achieve their lifestyle goals.
And finally, before I left I got a chance to speak with Amber Musgrave, who introduced me to collidal silver, and which I went back and purchased a bottle the next week. As a proud Sioux City native, Amber has a degree in marketing and graphic design. Health and wellness are not just words for her; they’re a way of life and an essential part of her family’s daily routine. In 2019, she brought her vibrant spirit and dedication to the OsteoStrong team. For Amber, OsteoStrong is more than a program; it’s a holistic path to overall well-being, and she’s thrilled to bring this cutting-edge technology to the residents of Sioux City. With her boundless passion for health and her strong administrative skills, she’s here every day, supporting our members and making sure everyone’s wellness journey is a success.
The testimonials Michael told me about include young athletes improving their vertical jump, allowing them to surpass past their competition, older women with bone density issues who have been able to conquer going up the stairs pain free, to even body builders wanting to improve their performance in order to see maximum results. I know I will be going back to improve my balance, and maybe even get my 72-year-old mom in here to reverse the signs of aging on her body.
